Whilst flicking through the Telegraph last weekend, sitting in the sun (oh how sophisticated), I stumbled upon an interesting article about Google Maps and the alphabet…
It took several months, but Rhett Dashwood managed to create the complete alphabet using satellite images of natural features! The alphabet features all 26 letters and you can view them all on his website.
Impressive stuff

There’s nothing like some positive feedback to end a long, hard week… and that’s exactly what we got from the London Advertising and Design Group regarding the new Digital Guru’s website that we launched last Friday. It’s only been live a week and already it’s had a huge number of hits and the ‘kinetic light writing’ seems to have gone down a treat amongst viewers.
Congrats again to the team… and thanks for the feedback! Now go check out the link…

After a busy couple of weeks Digital Gurus is now live. We did things a little differently this time around, using the Gaia flash framework to speed up the build and give ourselves less work (after months of playing around with it). Turns out this thing is great.
Gaia, for those of you that don’t know, is an open source flash framework that promises to dramatically reduce development time. It does this by taking care of all the niggly challenges in Flash website development like pages, transitions, asset management, structure and deep linking. All those things you spend hours on and which crop up later when Jon from accounts has clicked everything at once. It’s stable and it works and in this project alone it saved us 15-20 hours.
This allowed us to spend more time on animation and touches – which you can see on the the site. Combining fine aftereffects work and our own finishing touches.
Behind everything we’ve used some nifty programming on the jobs board side to build our own Haversine based postcode distance search, with various other sliders and dropdowns to modify the jobs listings to your needs – go and have a play! The site also intelligently preloads each page (in the order that they have been most accessed).

Colour. We own it…
While T-Mobile failed in their quest to own Magenta… We Love has successfully taken ownership of all Colour.
By ignoring the grey scale, hum-drum restrictions of other agencies and by creating campaigns full of vibrancy and life – on realistic budgets and timeframes, with efficiency, passion and drive – we have hit the mark time and time again. And although we haven’t, or wouldn’t legally try to take colour away from the masses (thats just bad form…) we’ve definitely illustrated that by using it so well… we OWN IT.
Celebrate our 1st birthday with us and revel in the marvel of colour, by claiming your own colour, or just admiring the work of We Love to date… Here’s to year two.
Witness it here…

As you may remember, London based digital recruitment agency, Digital Gurus chose We Love to define their brand, strategy and fulfill their exact design requirements. A great win for us seeing as they have access to some great freelancers and agencies in our very own industry…
Proud we were and proud we are, as today we launched their new website, blog and twitter as well as delivering all the offline; from biz cards to stationary to timesheets.

At the cutting edge of such a specialist field, their comms (and brand) needed to reflect the qualities and understanding they bring to the recruitment table. Their demands were high and we delivered.
Special thanks go (of course) to the client, who have been one of the best we have worked with – brilliant. Thanks to Josh and Nel for the inspired light, Dan for the design, Cara for the copy, Gav and Mel for the build and animations, James for the PMing (making sure it came in on time and on budget), and to the great photographers who bought into what we were doing and supplied images at such reasonable rates
(Peter Oakley, Carl Jones, Vincent Sielhorst, Jethro Tale and Guy Boden)

Dripping in Fat’s cool tees have even cooler and smart packaging – who came up with this smart idea? I’m sure this question will start a few office fights.
Check out how the Fuji Afternoon Panda is folded neatly by some “lovely” person and placed into our unique packaging.

check out the vid and watch my magic hands…

It may be well and good taking on the world and I truly love people who will happily put the ‘balls on the line’ to succeed. Its passion and drive that is a no. 1 characteristic that I look for in anyone…
However, I do hate stupidity. I.e. Never sleep with mafia bosses wife. That is just very stupid. Or never lay down a challenge without actually thinking through what the come back may be… duh… as Audi found out to their probable embarrassment over in the USofA.
