The other day I was flicking through one of Mark’s Why Not Associates books getting a dose of inspiration when I came across this spread showcasing the work they produced with Strawberry Frog for OM Group in 1999.
A nice idea for an identity system that is uniquely changeable and always developing. Unfortunately, the system was deemed too complicated to implement compared to a single logo so it never went ahead.
When I saw the work, I instantly knew I had seen the same idea and execution elsewhere. The current identity for AOL produced by Wolff Olins late last year has taken a very similar approach…
Goes to show if the idea is strong enough, it can appear just as fresh 11 years later.
