HAPPY NEW YEAR… I am feeling so ill…

Congratulations, for on this day a baby was born

Hey!!! Congrats go out to James and Maria and baby Immy for today Maria gave birth to baby Isobel at 7.31am. A healthy little/big 9lb 2oz.

More late nights await Jimbob… and not through work. Enjoy…

And 24 years ago… a little baby Gavin (We Love’s Tech Lead) was born on Christams day… So big Happy B’days to Gav as well.

Appreciation of the We Love Xmas Newsletter

It was the night before Christmas… and some people weren’t watching the telebox or rushing to wrap last minute presents… no, they were busy analysing  statistical data regarding their Xmas newsletter to the world…

…and what a cracker it was (no pun intended). In just 5 days we generated 17 new contacts, increased traffic (unique visitors) to the We Love site by a whopping 500%. And, ultimately, gained a lot of kudos along the way…

It was posted on the Creative Social Blog as one of the best five xmas cards seen this year (along with AKQA’s, BBH, M&C Saatchi and Poke). And seeing as the Creative Social is a very select group of the Top Creative’s in the World this is a very high achievement indeed.

So congrats to all involved. We keeping on setting higher and higher benchmarks for eDM.

However, the stats only show the business side of the application… lets not forget what the Xmas card was for… to bring joy and a smile to everyone after an extremely hard years work. Well done. It was fun to make and thanks for all the positive comments from everyone. It fulfilled its purpose. A happy end :)

Happy Christmas all, and if you haven’t seen it yet…. click here >

To Russia with Love

Well, it was an intense month, with some great work going live - checkout www.gestaltung.co.uk for a restrained use of Papervision (we’ll post full details on this launch and a number of others shortly). But we made it through to the other side with our sanities intact - and to celebrate we took the team to Russia (with Love). Well almost. We went to a storming, themed Bond night, with fire eaters, bond girls, bavarian dancers and drink tokens a-plenty.

See below for some highly edited pics :) Happy Christmas guys, hope you had great night xx

A short break in Hamburg

A little late but just wanted to share mine, Jen and Big D’s 5 day break to Hamburg a week ago…

The trip started with my Sons new found fascination with Aeroplanes… bloody expensive 2 hour wait in the departure lounge…

Great time had by all wandering the streets and taking brunch… I do miss the continental way…

They certainly know how to prep a city for Christmas… and as for the parks… wow… 40 meter zip lines and 25 meter giant tyre swings… and thats for adults… For the kids…wow… you know it must be great growing up with such amenities… The UK could learn a lot from this.

We stayed up in Winterhude at a friends apartment overlooking a canal. Beautiful. So many thanks Stefan and Barbara :) Whos shoes Big D wore for most of the time…

Can’t wait to go back next year.

Mark

Those were the days…

Two designers setting out on their first steps towards creative direction (checkout the glimpse of a 1990’s Creative Review).

Well it looks as though I kept my boyish good looks from all those years ago… but unfortunately time has been no friend to Mark :) Although to be fair he was ahead of the game even in those days… sadly he pre-empted chavs by about 10 years xD

Fun and laughter on an autumn holiday

Being the young professional I am, I recently jetted off on a European city break to Rome. A great time was had, beautiful Rome explored and an italian waiter was put in the recovery position and brought back from unconsciousness.

The Gallery Borghese, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Colloseum (which was magnificent, I’m not sure why everyone slates it as a disappointment), Trevi fountain and Pantheon. Rome really is a great city and the food was sublime. They know how to cook a steak (i.e. not very much).

It was such a good time one of my photos was selected by the Guardian in their arts and blogs section! Quite a surprise to find it there. Check out more photos from WeLove on our flickr photo stream.
