Brands That ‘Do Story Telling’

I love digital. Its what makes me tick. The ability to extend a brand online through interaction and engaging content. The ability to touch your audience in ways which were unthought of just 10 years ago.

And lets face it it is still the early years for digital. We are still stumbling around in the dark making sense of technology and behaviours that are entirely new to us complex and unique bipeds.

However, there is one thing that humans have being doing for a long long time… and that is story telling. We love a good yarn, be it to pass down life’s learnings to our offspring or to just entertain. So to celebrate here are some brands that ‘do story telling’ really very well.

We Love… Superheroes

Are you game? Are you ready to stop being a student? Do you want to kick start your career? If yes / yes / yes. Then you are ready for an internship here at We Love…

We are looking for people who are hungry for it. Who love the industry, who don’t want a bog standard 9 til 5, who have talent in buckets and want the opportunity to work with some proven gurus. To gain experience on real projects, work with real deadlines and budgets. To gain insight into this great industry of ours.

We are looking for 2 bright sparks. A designer and a developer, both must have a love of digital, a desire to learn and be brilliant. Internships will be a minimum of 3 months. You will work across a multitude of projects, taking ownership of some with guidance from others. There may even me a position offered at the end… who knows… it is your opportunity to shine!

Nike Write the Story… Brilliant

This has been pinging round the web for just a week… and already has over 7 million views…

Why… because this is completely brilliant piece of film. So hats off to Nike Football for commissioning it, Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam for conceptualising it, and Alejandro G Inarritu for directing it and making the beautiful game a little more beautiful…

I love it…

Wake Up and Smell the Coffeeeeee

A big hello to Melissa who joined us this week as our resident copywriter extraordinaire.

She joins us after working at a multitude of agencies where she performed magic for NS&I, Friends Provident, Cancer Research and Lexus (among others)… oh and she likes coffee. Ace. Get them in!!

Another new face

Well, with my first month out of the way and having fully acclimatised to the Manor, I thought it was finally time to lose my blogging cherry and post something… And what better way to start than to introduce our latest recruit JD, who has joined us as a Jnr Project Manager.

JD - new project manager

Having worked Client side for a number of years developing his skills and wanting a new challenge, JD has made the switch to agency, working alongside myself to keep the rest of the team in check (!) and to offer our clients outstanding service.

We wish him every success in this position.

(And thanks to Gav for being kind with my blog name!) :0)

And a Big Well Done to Everyone…

I would like to thank the whole team for their efforts, enthusiasm, and passion that led to We Love winning the The Chamber of Commerce’s Kent’s Most Promising New Business 2010.

It was an honour to receive the award last Wednesday at Canterbury Cathedral where we enjoyed a 4 course meal, beer (some of the guys (Gav and Nick) had a lot of beer) and a little opera singing with other finalists and sponsors.

We have worked tirelessly the last 2 years to create a great working environment and to produce great work for our clients as well as work that we are proud of. So a big thank you to our clients as well.

Here is to year 3!!

Many thanks. Mark
