Hey, we are hiring…

Hi all, Long time no speak.

It has been super busy here at We Love… what with the Sony Ericsson 3GSM site going live and a few others to launch oh so very soon… (not forgetting to catch up on the PR of other work that has already launched / been delivered… but that is for another time…)

What this little digital gossip / heads up is all about is that we are now on the hunt for some new talent to join us at the manor… specifically a digital Snr Designer and a Snr Developer with the skillz to blow us away.

You must have agency experience and a few years under your belt, and know how it all works… You must illustrate creativity (no matter how ‘dull’ the project was)… Have sweet business acumen and most excellent people and management skills. Worked for some sweet brands, be at award winning level – top of your game – and have the energy and get up and go to really drive We Love forward.

Got what it takes? Then email CV, URLs to work@welove72.com

ta ta for now pips!

Who Fancies a Nando’s?

With any financial downturn comes a shortage of creativity, where agency and client alike fall back on the tried and tested to sell their product or service in order to protect their job or position. Its a safe option and one that always adopted during hard times, even though we know that in reality it should be the reverse (look at BMW in the ’80’s – ’90’s – Doubled their marketing spend and took over the world) – we should be playing smarter and harder to distinguish our clients from their competition.

So knowing that we are due an influx of rubbishy adverts that include cute animals, hot women, stupid cartoons we present Nando’s latest offering… the only thing… I sort of like it :)

Who fancies a Nando’s?

So Beautifully Shot…

for such graphic violence… nice titles too…

What would life be like without the Internet??

Came across this rather interesting competition which posses the question what would society look like if the internet was switched off. Would it be as simple as just turning back the clocks prior to broadband… and what of the brands that have raised their mega-heads over the past 10 years, how would they cope with the change…

I have included one example here, but to have a good smile. Click Here>>

We Love is nominated for Creative Agency Awards

Fine news today… We Love 72 were contacted by the Creative Agency Awards for inclusion into the 2009 publication of the top 99 global creative agencies (both offline and online), for works to date including We Own Colour, We Love Xmas 2008, Digital Gurus and Go Grand Ocean.

The book to be published this year will be on general sale through all good book shops. This is not a plug, but a quantitative comment. The book being for sale allows the Creative Agency Awards to select agencies on creative merit rather than have agencies but their way in. A rather refreshing quality in a world of agency owned award ceromonies…

Will let you know more as it happens…

Digital Gurus

After a busy couple of weeks Digital Gurus is now live. We did things a little differently this time around, using the Gaia flash framework to speed up the build and give ourselves less work (after months of playing around with it). Turns out this thing is great.

Gaia, for those of you that don’t know, is an open source flash framework that promises to dramatically reduce development time. It does this by taking care of all the niggly challenges in Flash website development like pages, transitions, asset management, structure and deep linking. All those things you spend hours on and which crop up later when Jon from accounts has clicked everything at once. It’s stable and it works and in this project alone it saved us 15-20 hours.

This allowed us to spend more time on animation and touches – which you can see on the the site. – combining fine after effects work and our own finishing touches.

Behind everything we’ve used some nifty programming on the jobs board side to build our own Haversine based postcode distance search, with various other sliders and dropdowns to modify the jobs listings to your needs – go and have a play!. The site also intelligently preloads each page (in the order that they have been most accessed).
