We Love… are a TOP 100 GLOBAL CREATIVE AGENCY
Well, what a nice start to the week. We were first nominated back in June… and now we have just been informed that We Love has been confirmed as one of the TOP 100 GLOBAL CREATIVE AGENCIES. I feel all glowy inside.
After someone (we know not who) kindly nominated us… we were contacted by The Creative Agency Awards and asked to submit a piece of custom work for the ‘FINAL JUDGEMENT’ to these unbiased, independent and indeed secret guys and girls… The agencies (not just digital, but offline as well) that made the grade were judged on their creative over the past year and their submission to the judge. Its good to be loved.
The book is to be published soon
Well done crew, keep up the good work.
Design Charts – Yeah Baby
We have done it again…
Our latest poptastic web entry in the echelons of Design Charts is only a lowly 36… But we believe Charles Lee Loves You will be up near the pointy end soon.
Congrats to all
Charles Lee Get’s Licked…
The site ‘Charles Lee Loves You’, designed and built by We Love, for film and video guru Josh Michnik, has won a Design Lick Web Award and been designated as Site of the Day! It will be showcased on the 9th August, so be sure to check out ‘Design Licks’ … and feel our fame…
Merchandising Usability: Better Ways to Buy
Have you noticed that, when showing cross-sells and upsells, many eCommerce sites hijack you off the page you’re looking at to view the suggested item, often with no way back to the other page without hitting “back?” Surely this is not the most usable way to suggest products and improve merchandising conversion rate. The same bad experience is applied when you wish to view your cart… why is this?
Surely cross-sell usability is a factor in their effectiveness. But how can you show customers information about cross-sells without forcing them to abandon the page they’re viewing? How do you create a fluid experience that is based on years of ingrained ‘real world’ habits. Not just reinvented and forever changing behaviors of a fledgling medium.
Answers on a postcard? No! Just wait for the launch of Sugagloss. Our soon to be launched flash based eCommerce / Magento driven site that is 100% SEO friendly. By reviewing best practice and rethinking how shoppers behave (and applying the real world physychology employed by successful retailers) we have advanced the design and user experience of the online shopping experience for our client, creating on page (and relevant) cross / up selling and purchase process that doesn’t break the rich user experience. We have taken one step in removing the barriers…
Keep checking back for the big launch!!
We Love is nominated for Creative Agency Awards
Fine news today… We Love 72 were contacted by the Creative Agency Awards for inclusion into the 2009 publication of the top 99 global creative agencies (both offline and online), for works to date including We Own Colour, We Love Xmas 2008, Digital Gurus and Go Grand Ocean.
The book to be published this year will be on general sale through all good book shops. This is not a plug, but a quantitative comment. The book being for sale allows the Creative Agency Awards to select agencies on creative merit rather than have agencies but their way in. A rather refreshing quality in a world of agency owned award ceromonies…
Will let you know more as it happens…
It’s all about the bite size chunks…
I often browse the Internet on a daily basis, whether it’s to check out the latest cool gadgets or the best office pranks! But now, the Internet seems to be swamped with billions of websites, making it increasingly harder to find the right information. So, with an overwhelming number of different resources at the click of your mouse, the necessity of bite size information is becoming increasingly important.
When browsing the net users don’t want to feel swamped down or overwhelmed by an abundance of brightly coloured graphics or text heavy websites, SHOUTING numerous messages from multiple pages. They want to see clear, concise information with a good structure and some level of hierarchy. They want relevance!
When designing for web, it’s important to understand what the user would want to see… navigation should be self-explanatory and users shouldn’t be struggling to find the information they require, else they’re simply going to close the browser or click away to someone else’s site. You should consider how you would like the user to respond… i.e. do you want them to read THIS or maybe THIS!
Using intelligent design, useful headings (not generic words), supportive imagery and bite size chunks of information, you can capture and engage users in an effective and productive way, driving them ever deeper into your site, and thus adding value to your site, brand, etc.
Give your viewers a relaxed and enjoyable journey through your website, where they can absorb and process the information they see. Bite size chunks are they way forward and, from experience, they’re much easier to digest… unlike this trash below…
